Wax on
Bees, it’s incredible how many benefits we get from these tiny, creative creatures. Of course, they give us delicious honey, which has its own list of benefits for sure. But I’m talking about beeswax.
Let’s start with the benefits on the skin; beeswax can help with acne since it has strong antiseptic, healing and anti- inflammatory properties. This can also be linked back to helping with skin condition such as psoriasis, eczema and stretch marks, with a few extra ingredients. For instance, Guilty Pleasure Body also has a body butter that contains beeswax for these exact reasons.
Lip balm is another one of my favourite ‘beeswax’ products. Which is why lip balm that does contain beeswax are getting more and more popular now a days. Since the beeswax is a natural substance, we think it is better to use on your lips then other chemical-based ingredients found in ‘unnatural’ lip balms such as oxybenzone, petrolatum and menthol that can cause more irritation and bad skin reactions.
Beeswax on the other hand prevents infections and cold sore. Not only does it moisturize the lips but retains the moisture, to keep your lips hydrated for longer. Very soothing for dry, cracked, sore lips! Plus, it helps protect your lips from harmful sun rays. Win – win – win.
