Peppermint during the cold season

what does peppermint oil have to do with cold season? Crazy as it seems, peppermint can be used for sore throats, coughs, sinus and just colds & flu’s in general. The anti-bacterial properties help fight off throat infections and its anti-inflammation properties help reduce swelling. Peppermint essential oil acts as a natural decongestant and can help to thin mucus, relieving nasal congestion and sinus cavities.

You may find recipes on google that say to use a few drops of peppermint essential oil here and there on your skin for it to work. But we have a better idea. Guilty Pleasure Body have peppermint coffee body scrub + body wash that contain that exact ingredient!! Why are we telling you this? Well not only is it vegan friendly and completely natural, it can also help keep the flu and cold symptoms at bay.

I have a big family and this winter every single one of them has had a turn of having a cold. Not fun! ... Then I realised, I never caught that cold. Was it because I am the female version of ‘Unbreakable’, was I just lucky or was it because for the past few months my go to body scrub has been Guilty Pleasure Body’s peppermint scrub? It does contain peppermint essential oil… I guess I will never know for sure, but what I do know is I’ll be using the peppermint body scrub next winter!
